E-commerce & Shopify

E-commerce Website Development in Arizona, Built by People Who Sell Online

Shopify and WooCommerce stores designed to load fast, look sharp, and turn browsers into buyers. We run our own online brands, so we build your store the way we would build ours.

An Arizona e-commerce partner that actually runs stores

Plenty of agencies can launch a storefront. Fewer have dealt with a sold-out variant at 9 p.m., a payment gateway hiccup during a promotion, or an inventory count that drifted out of sync between Amazon and Shopify. Our team operates its own e-commerce brands selling on Amazon, Etsy and Shopify, and we build internal tools to manage ads, orders and SEO for those brands. That experience shapes every store we build for clients across Phoenix, Gilbert, Scottsdale and the rest of Arizona.

Mathias Designs has been building websites out of Gilbert since 2011, and over those 15 years we have helped clients generate more than $100 million in revenue. When you hire us, you get a store built around how products actually get found, compared, added to cart and paid for.

Shopify or WooCommerce: which one fits your business?

We build on both, so our recommendation is based on your situation, not on the only platform we know.

When Shopify makes sense

Shopify is a strong fit if you want a hosted platform with dependable checkout, simple day-to-day management, and a large app ecosystem. It handles hosting, security and payment processing for you, which suits most product brands that want to focus on marketing and fulfillment rather than server maintenance.

When WooCommerce makes sense

WooCommerce runs on WordPress and gives you full ownership of your code and data. It shines when you need unusual product logic, deep content marketing, custom pricing rules, or integrations that a hosted platform makes awkward. If you already have a WordPress site with years of SEO equity, adding WooCommerce can be the smarter path. Our WordPress and WooCommerce development page goes deeper on that side.

If you are unsure, we will walk through your catalog size, fulfillment setup, sales channels and growth plans, then give you a straight answer.

What’s included in an e-commerce build

  • Custom store design built around your brand, your products and your customers, not a lightly edited template.
  • Product page development with clear photography layouts, variant selectors, size charts, reviews areas and trust signals that answer buyer questions before they leave.
  • Checkout and cart optimization to reduce friction, including shipping rules, tax settings, discounts and payment options.
  • Platform migrations from Wix, Squarespace, BigCommerce, Magento, or between Shopify and WooCommerce, with products, customers, orders and URL redirects carried over so you protect existing search traffic.
  • Marketplace integrations that connect your store with Amazon and Etsy for inventory and order sync, so you stop updating stock counts by hand.
  • Third-party integrations for email marketing, shipping software, reviews, accounting, ERPs and print-on-demand or fulfillment partners.
  • Tracking setup with GA4, Google Ads and Meta conversion tracking so you can see what drives sales.
  • SEO foundations including clean URLs, structured data for products, collection page copy and fast load times.
  • Training and handoff so your team can add products, run sales and manage orders with confidence.

Built for speed, conversions and growth

A slow store loses sales, especially on mobile. We keep themes lean, compress images properly, limit app bloat, and test on real devices before launch. We also design with your marketing in mind. If you plan to run Google Shopping or Meta ads, your product feeds, landing pages and tracking need to be ready on day one. Our Google Ads and PPC management team can pick up right where the build leaves off.

For stores with large catalogs, we can also set up automation for product data, descriptions and image alt text through our AI app development work, which saves hours every time you add new items.

How pricing works

A standard e-commerce store typically starts around $4,000. That covers a custom-designed Shopify or WooCommerce build with core pages, product and collection templates, checkout setup and launch support. Larger catalogs, complex migrations, custom apps or marketplace sync can add to the scope, and we will quote those clearly before work begins. Ongoing hosting, care plans, SEO and ad management are available as separate monthly options if you want help after launch.

We work with store owners in Gilbert, Phoenix, Chandler, Mesa, Tempe, Queen Creek and San Tan Valley, and remotely with brands anywhere. When you are ready, request a quote or browse all services.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Straight answers to the things people ask us most. Have a different question? We are happy to talk it through.

Ask us anything
Should I choose Shopify or WooCommerce for my online store?

It depends on how much control you need and how you want to manage your store. Shopify is usually the easier choice for product brands that want hosted reliability and simple management. WooCommerce is better when you need custom logic, full data ownership, or already have a strong WordPress site. We build on both and will recommend the one that fits your catalog and goals.

Can you migrate my existing store without losing my Google rankings?

We plan migrations carefully to protect your search traffic. That means mapping old URLs to new ones with 301 redirects, carrying over product data, customers and order history, and preserving page titles and content where it makes sense. No one can guarantee rankings, but a careful migration avoids the common mistakes that cause traffic drops.

Can my store sync with Amazon and Etsy?

Yes. We set up integrations that keep inventory and orders in sync between your Shopify or WooCommerce store and marketplaces like Amazon and Etsy. Because we sell on those marketplaces ourselves, we know where the sync tends to break and how to set it up so you are not overselling or updating stock by hand.

How much does an e-commerce website cost in Arizona?

A standard e-commerce store with us typically starts around $4,000. The final price depends on catalog size, custom features, migrations and integrations. We give you a clear written quote before any work begins.

Do you work with businesses outside the Phoenix area?

Yes. We are based in Gilbert and work with businesses across Arizona, including Phoenix, Scottsdale, Chandler, Mesa and Tempe. We also work remotely with clients anywhere, using video calls and shared project tools to keep everything moving.
